In fact, sleep mode is for laptops and screensavers are unneeded. I have my power management set to "Always On" and three "nevers". You could probably get away with putting your monitor on standby. You didn't say exactly what's not working for you, but you can check your settings under Power management in Control

I highly suspect that your problem with sleep mode was not with the card. There is a known bug with Win98 and power saving settings. Finally I was told to try wiping out Win 98 and reinstall my system....all the while I've been running and ATI All in Wonder Pro without ever having a hitch.
